I am not one to routinely review anything, let alone a movie, but after seeing Breaking Dawn last night, I thought I would share my opinion. It was AWESOME! Really. Wyck Godfrey and his team of producers, directors, camera-people, etc. did a fantastic job at recreating the first part of the fourth book in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga. Aside from Bella driving a Mercedes Guardian, I don't think they left out anything.
Kristin Stewart did a relatively remarkable job at conveying emotions this time. Much better than her last few attempts. I could actually read what Bella was feeling in this movie. Her facial expressions were pretty spot on. In my opinion, she finally portrayed the Bella that Ms. Meyer penned. In different parts of the movie Bella was cute, pretty, ugly and beautiful. Kudos, Miss Stewart. Your acting has improved greatly - I'm looking forward to seeing Snow White and the Huntsman.
And Edward - my personal favorite. Robert Pattinson portrayed effectively our tragic hero. He allows us, the viewer, to step right inside Edward's soul. As he watched Bella walk down the aisle, we felt his love. As he watched his child, inside of his wife, crush her from the inside out, we felt his pain. And as we watched his relationship with Jacob reach a new level, we felt the bond. As always, Robert Pattinson portrayed a most beloved hero of our time.
And finally, Taylor Lautner. In my opinion, the best actor of the three. He adds depth as well as comedy to Breaking Dawn. We oohed and aahed when he tore off his shirt (never a disappointment). We cheered when he stood up to his pack, and we cried when he showed up on Bella's wedding day. I think Breaking Dawn gave Taylor more opportunity to show his acting chops. He is adorable and damn sexy.
As for the rest of the characters - well played.
This is a movie that will not disappoint any Twilight Saga fan. It is a movie as good as the book and I cannot wait another year to see the next part. I will just have to see this one multiple times until Breaking Dawn Part II comes out.
Enjoy the movie.
