A Touch of Honor - A seventeen year-old girl with the power to heal, struggles with her own mortality when she finds that healing others is slowly killing her and when her empathic boyfriend's morally corrupt half-brother comes to town, she finds herself falling for him as well.
But when a group of evil empaths come looking for Honor, and her grandfather's immortal elixir, the two brothers are forced to work together to help save the one girl they both love.
A Touch of Honor is a product of my imagination - a story that came to me before the man I love was diagnosed with cancer. For months, my stomach was hurting. So, I had test after test to determine why. The doctors found nothing wrong. A few weeks later, my husband went to the doctor and something told the doctor to send him for a cat scan. Long story short, the love of my life ended up with bladder cancer. As soon as we found out, my pain suddenly disappeared. It was as if my body was taking on the pain he was supposed to feel but didn't. So when that thought occurred to me, Honor's story began popping up in my head. Of course it took on a tale all its own once I started writing it. But to me, that's the best part about writing a story - seeing where the characters take it.
Speaking of characters, of course the two main ones were Honor and her boyfriend Ethan. Ethan shows up in Honor's life on purpose, but she doesn't know this. All she knows is that he is always staring at her. Then she sees him following her after school. She's weirded-out by him but eerily attracted to him at the same time. Once she finds out why he is there, she can't help but fall in love with him.
Now for Storm. He was supposed to be the antagonist. The one everyone hated and wanted to see die. However, Storm had his own idea of who he wanted to be, and that changed the whole dynamic of my story. Because of Storm's stubbornness and persistence, he becomes the heart of the story, and that's where it becomes interesting.
I hope you'll take the time out to find out about Honor, Ethan, and Storm and join them on their journey to save Honor's life. (And of course find out who she actually chooses for herself).
Okay - now for the fun part of this hop. Tracy (our coordinator) wanted you to know some things about us. Here are my answers.
1. If you could live anywhere, would you rather live:
c. in the country
I would rather live in the country. I am a pure Ingalls (as in Little House on the Prairie) girl at heart.
2. What would you prefer?
a. salty foods
I prefer Sweets - all the way!
3. If you were stranded on a desert island, what is one thing you couldn't live without?
The one thing I couldn't live without (aside from my husband and kids) is my Kindle. I couldn't live without my books. - Then again, if I had an unlimited amount of ink and paper, I'd love to write all the time too.
4. Choose one of these books.
a. Pride and Prejudice
b. Alex Cross
d. Snow White and the Huntsman
e. The Shining
This is a hard one, because I love Pride and Prejudice and Twilight equally. But I guess I'd have to choose Pride and Prejudice, because I'm a sucker for anything involving Mr. Darcy.
5. Which word most suits you.
I'd love to say I was carefree or even crazy, but unfortunately, I'm anxious - which I try hard not to be. lol.
6. Tell me something about yourself that might be funny to others? (other than writing)
Something funny about me is that I'm not funny. I try to be funny, Lord knows, but any joke that comes out of my mouth falls flat...and sometimes offends. So, needless to say, I don't tell jokes. lol
7. Which group of words explain what you are like the most?
a. fly by the seat of your pants
b. drama queen
c. don't sweat the small stuff
d. footloose and fancy free.
e. Too tightly wound
Well, although I am anxious, I am not too tightly wound. I know it doesn't sound feasible because of my anxiety, but I am a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl.
